Part Mystery, Part Inspirational Memoir – My Memoir Arrives Soon!
Part mystery, part inspirational memoir, “Patchwork: A Memoir of Love and Loss,” is scheduled for release next Tuesday, October 23rd.
Here’s a summary:
A wife and mother of three teenagers, Mary Jo Doig is enjoying her career and her life. She wants nothing more than to live out her days embraced by the deep roots of family, friends, and community. Tightly wrapped in a life-long protective cocoon, though, she has no idea how wounded she is. Then, abruptly, on a starless night following the death of a relative, she has a terrifying flashback. A dark passageway opens and soon takes her back to her childhood. To horrific secrets buried deep in her psyche.
Part mystery, part inspirational memoir, Patchwork is the riveting story of one woman striving to live a life of love. Yet life brings tragedies with the deaths of two of her children and struggles in her marriages. She must learn to understand her mysterious life-long behavior unnoticed by family or teachers.
Like a needle stitching together a quilt, the memories Mary Jo recovers following her first flashback show her much. Why did she need to be invisible in her early years? What caused her to believe that she was vastly different from her peers? Slowly, truth emerges.
Yet shattering revelations cause her to become overcome by depression, hopelessness, and loss of trust in others. Mary Jo eventually embarks on a journey through the underground of her life that ultimately leads to transformation.
